Claire Bolton van Weert is an Australian-trained generalist Speech and Language Therapist with clinics in London and Chesham (Buckinghamshire).  A Churchill Fellowship allowed her to travel to Canada/U.S.A. to learn how music/singing within speech and language therapy can improve communication skills. Claire has received additional training from The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy.  She liaises with Chiltern Music Therapy, supporting both adults and children with a broad range of clinical needs. Claire also specialises in voice therapy for professional voice users. In 2017 Claire was the Winner of the (national) Best Business Women Awards in Health & Wellness and a Finalist in Customer Service.

Claire presenting on behalf of Rosie Axon.  Rosie founded and is Managing Director at Chiltern Music Therapy, an award-winning social enterprise and the largest provider of specialist Neuro and Medical Music Therapy services across the UK, as well as providing Music Therapy in the community, care homes, schools and NHS trusts across England. With previous roles at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, a specialist complex brain injury rehabilitation centre and within the NHS Community and Forensic Team, she now specialises in providing Music Therapy to children and adults with brain injury and neuro-disability and premature babies with multiple needs. Rosie was awarded a grant by SEMPRE to travel to Florida Children’s Hospital and alongside a colleague at Chiltern, became one of only two qualified Neonatal Intensive Care Music Therapists in the UK. Rosie is a certified Neurologic Music Therapist, and a certified MATADOC assessor (Music Therapy Assessment Tool for Awareness in Disorders of Consciousness).

Following her training in America, Rosie and her Co-Director set up an international Research Committee at Chiltern Music Therapy and their team have begun a number of national and European research studies with the Applied Music Research Centre at University of Roehampton. She has just completed a research study looking at how music can help premature babies who are blind, to reach development milestones at the same time as their fully-sighted peers.
