She wants to join the committee to be able to contribute to her industry and build a better future for everyone in it- both currently practicing and the next generation.

Committee Member
Ericka Mantaring
Hello! My name is Ericka and I’m a baby speechie who has just entered the profession this year! Having recently moved back home to Singapore, I have also enjoyed playing ultimate frisbee out in the sun. This has allowed me to reconnect with friends from before I left for my studies and to meet new people across ages and walks of life. I value connecting with others and constantly learning, and look forward to doing so both in my workplace and with SALTS. While the speechie community in Singapore is relatively small and still growing, it is so diverse and there is so much to learn
from each other. I thus look forward to this new phase of life for me as I start my career and contribute to the growing local speech therapy community.

Committee Member
Grace Lai
The areas I'm passionate about is Gestalt Language Processing and also working with the Deaf community with regards to language and literacy. I believe that all individuals have the ability to communicate meaningfully and functionally and should be given the opportunity to learn to do so. I'm a big Gestalt Language Processor (GLP) advocate where I work, and I'm proud to say that I've shared this knowledge with many teachers and some SLPs to provide a well-deserved opportunity for the GLPs to learn language the way they're meant to. For the Deaf community, I've had to wonderful privilege of working with students and teachers in Mayflower Primary School to help bridge the gap in academics and language for the Deaf students, while navigating life in an inclusive school.
