Global Perspectives: Can Early Language Contribute to Mental Health in Singapore and the United Kingdom?

August 3, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free – $5.00

Drawing from experiences in the clinic and ongoing cohort studies of children as they grow up in Singapore and UK, 4 local and international researchers will  be asking – can early language contribute to the development of mental health among preschool and primary school children?

Perhaps as a speech and language therapist, a psychologist, a teacher, or as a researcher you have observed how language and mental health come together among Singaporean children? Some researchers estimate that up to 2 children per classroom have language which reach a level of a disorder – and thus may be at risk of social, behavioural or emotional problems.

Hear firsthand as researchers and clinicians from Singapore and UK discuss global perspectives over afternoon tea at the Intercontinental Hotel Roberston Quay. We hope to see you there!
